THERE COMES A TIME There comes a time when aged hands Can no longer lift the pen; When words don't come easily And all too soon are lost again. There comes a time when aging eyes Are dimmed by life and tears; Soon to close forever more Upon the memories of years. There comes a time when a heart Forgets to beat as it should; Perchance the heart is broken And it is turned to stone or wood. There comes a time when music Does not stir the dancing feet And the melody drifts away As life becomes complete. Today my hand still lifts a pen, My eyes see the miracle of living; My heart beats with a passion While the feet dance in giving. I hope that when there comes a time When all is said and done - That I have lived the best I could With compassion for everyone. Life has its own magic, Its own reason and rhyme - I understand completely that Indeed, there comes a time. Countrymom 4/25/03 |
