Finding Beauty in the Storm

There was a time
when I pushed everything away,
then questioned why it was
I felt nothing.

I had turned from
the deep emotion that is within me,
along with the one truth
I couldn't forget.
I was drifting away
like a spec of dust in the breeze,

until something hit me!
I opened my eyes once again,
(Oh how long I had been sleeping!)
to what I have always known is right.

I found my own path,
and the tools to fight that
which led me away in the beginning.

Now as the vision of my life becomes clearer
