Devilish Prune

I hate them.

How can ANYONE
like such a carcass
of fruit-
         shriveled and holding
a disturbing resemblance
to clotted blood.

Loved only by geezers
when made into juice-
         black and evil.

Fibrous remnants of plums
forced down a miserable gullet
by your grandma
when you are sick to
"loosen up the pipes a bit."

How can ANYONE
love a dried out fruit
that exists for one sole purpose-

         TO MAKE YOU POOP!
