He's on his way back home - |
WAITING FOR HIS CALL The little boy I used to hold And bounce upon my knee Is now a man grown tall and strong Yet still looks for love from me. A bond that time cannot erase That of a mother and her son - Through all the trials and troubles I cheer him on when he's won. And when his world has toppled I most always get a call - Telling me what's happened; Asking if it's worth it all. I try to give him courage; The will to live another day - Looking back, I would not change Or have it any other way. Now time has changed his thinking And he's chosen the right pathway He's coming home - tomorrow - At least he's on his way. Sitting by the window and Looking out at the starry night, I've put him in God's care I know he will be all right. The hair now is pure silver, The hands weary - I may fall; Somewhere up there in Heaven I'll be waiting for his call. |
