How can you define God?

If God can create
the Earth in seven days,
Why should it be sacrilage
to attribute greater power,
and believe God manifested
-all that is- in one

         BIG BANG?

If God can fashion man
in his own image,
Why would it be impiety
to say she, too, makes woman
in mirror of herself?

If God can utter bidding
from a bush burning with no heat,
Why is it evil to search for
my guidance in a deck of cards?

If God can whisper and the heavens boom,
can rain down fire that makes
men exclaim and understand in every tongue,
Why is it ridiculous for me
to know some need not use their voice
for me to hear them speak?

If God can walk in human form,
befriending killers, prostitutes,
and thieves,
Who is anyone to scorn and say
that there are those
not worthy of God's love?

If God is truly Alpha
and Omega, the beginning,
AND the end,
How can it matter that some choose
Yaweh, Buddha, Allah, Goddess,
Shiva, or Great Spirit
in between?
