A pale blue sky

Just something I wrote while I was bored and thinking too much.

A pale blue sky smiles down
The first golden rays of sun appear
Peeking over the horizon
Parting the top row of tree branches
Searching for the last corners of darkness
The darkness runs to hide
But soon is found and lit
A few spots are still hiding
Behind the houses
And behind the trees
Under the cars
And beneath the trucks
Behind you and me
They wait through the day
Hiding from the sun
Until the sun tires
And goes to bed
And the shadows grow
They swallow the light
