She slit the envelope’s throat
Oh would it be his name
If yes, then She might float
Float on wings of love you see
For He had dared to love her

She drank in every word
It seemed, as she read the pages
His was the voice that was heard
Saying in so many words
That he truly loved her

Finally
The nicest part
As She reached the end
Every kiss held close to her heart
Each soft embracing touch
Proving He dearly loved Her.

Eagerly
She watched and waited
For His presence
That their love might be sated
And in His arms
Knowing that He loved her
