Countdown poem about autumn (Count Down) |
| Coolness slithers in and passes out nips to awaken colors that explode, in bits of yellow, red, orange. Energy infuses all, while nature serves her feast. Dance on leaf-strewn earth, sing clear night skies, hide from harm, yawn and sleep. * * * * * Count up and Count down. Count up: The count up has 55 syllables, divided over ten lines. Starting with one syllable, adding a syllable each line. So, you end your poem with the tenth line, with ten syllables. Rhyme and meter are allowed. ( not in its cousin, the Etheree, quite similar to the Count up) Count down: In fact is the count down the opposite of the count up. You start with 10 syllables in the first line and in the following lines you write a syllable less. So you end with one syllable. It is a great form to use with a humorous twist…(but it is not necessary…) |
