And as I lay my head to sleep it comes
The nothing, the infinite beyond
And so I pass into this place
With one last waking yawn
And then blackness turns to light
Old faces, I see anew
So off I fly
Where eagles spy
By golden wings I flew
Yes into the clouds, over the seas
Nowhere is hidden from view
Onward I fly
Ever so high
To the brightest, of brightest of blue
The sun’s fierce touch on my wings
And suddenly the sky’s gone askew
Like Cupid I fall
And fear worst of all
In one more second and I’m through
But saved by the beep, I rise from my sleep
Content just to walk and to run
But tomorrow I’ll fly, seven times just as high
Tomorrow I touch the sun.
