Pale Blue Eyes

What a a pair of eyes can show

He finally understood
When he looked into her eyes,
Filled with wonder and awe.
For her pale blue eyes,
Reflected all that he saw.
Yet it seemed different to him,
As though those eyes,
Changed the world from inside.
Her soul was pure,
So full of endless light,
That for once in his life
He felt safe in the night.
The more that he looked,
The more that he saw,
Until one gray day,
Those pale eyes were gone.
When he cried to the heavens,
And looked at the stars.
Out of no where he saw
Pale eyes from above.
And finally he felt not so alone
He thanked the lord every night
For the wisdom he had shown
Through a most unexpected place.
Through a little girl’s face.
