A poem about Samantha Runnion. |
| This poem is about Samantha Runnion but is also meant to represent all of the kids who have been kidnapped, sexually molested, and/or killed in recent days. I wrote it on August 5th in the early morning after watching a rerun of Larry King Live with Erin Runnion, Samantha's mother (Show transcript: http://www.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0208/04/lklw.00.html). You can read more about the case at: http://www.cnn.com/2002/LAW/08/05/avila.death.penalty/index.html ================================================================== ![]() Like a bird of prey, He swept down to take the little mouse... Kicking and screaming she struggled to break free. The whole world cried, As they tried to find her... Finding only her body, left like someone's used trash. We became hunters. He must be found. He has hurt the little ones before, She was the first to die. Let her death not be in vain, Show that these autrocities will not be tolerated, her mother screamed as they put her in the ground. Let little Samantha live on. Word Count: 176 |
