TO MONTY

A little how-to advice on Getting Older

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MONTY!

'Twas on the twenty-fourth of June
That a little bouncing baby boy
Was born in Vermont's green hills
Bringing many shouts of joy!

Some fifty years plus, later
This man I got to meet;
Today is his birthday and
He's feeling pretty beat.

May have a bit to do with
Changing a garage door;
Or maybe out there gardening
Or writing a bit more.

Now if you want my advice
And even if you don't
If you said "yes" that's good.
if "no", of course I won't!

The trick of getting older
Is very plain to see
As long as you keep smiling
Happier you'll be!

You're bound to find happiness
When there's no gloom about!
Take a walk down to the brook
And let the tension out!

I think advice is out of line;
You have it all down pat;
I'll just say HAPPY BIRTHDAY
And let it go at that!
