Land of snow-capped mountains, lakes and icebergs |
The day I decided to retire My co-workers got together To plan a retirement party And send me even further! They pooled their resources And gave a trip to me - I was going to Alaska A son there to see! Flying over the mountains I could not believe my eyes - For they were so beautiful; Through the clouds did rise! The plane set down in Fairbanks And waiting there for me Was my son and daughter-in-law Smiling gleefully! We panned for gold up there Rainbow Mountain's icy streams The views of Mount McKinley Were beyond my wildest dreams! The moose wandered all about, They seemed not to have a care! I looked and looked but never saw That famous polar bear! Time to leave came too soon But I had my memories; Flying back above the mountains A sight to surely please! |
