For a story I'm making, what kind of Pokémon should the Trio use?

Poll Question:
A story for "Pokéflute Playtime: New Game+" 

I'm thinking about if the Trio of the above story were to go to the Battle Frontier. Since each path has them starting from the beginning with a Starter, I want to do something similar here, but what should their other two Pokémon be? For anyone that doesn't know, 3v3 is the norm in the Frontier.

Defensive Team
The other Pokémon should cover weaknesses of the Starter.

Aggressive Defence
The Starter's allies focus on covering its weaknesses, but have a good amount of type coverage between them

Offensive Team
The other two should maximise the amount of type coverage as possible.
