| -Gravitas's daughter was born with a primordial talent, but it was a primordial talent so powerful, so ancient, that for the first time in history? It was deemed too dangerous to keep on this Earth, that talent, was chaos itself, and it would create the 2nd great war. -His daughter had a normal birth, his wife's vitals were perfectly normal, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Both Gravitas and his wife were smiling from ear to ear, crying tears of joy. The time finally came for Gravitas to hold his daughter, but when she was being handed to him, in his nervousness, his hand slips from underneath her just slightly, enough to shake her and visibly cause a slight scare in her, and this, triggered her to start crying. -An incredible earthquake immediately ensues, an earthquake that shook the Earth to its core, Gravitas as a seasoned veteran reacts without delay, stabilizing the hospital in its entirety with his gravity, but the Earthquake was just too powerful, stronger than any mankind had faced till now, not even his indomitable talent was enough to cover so much ground with so much force being exerted to resist it. Gravitas could survive the collapse easily, but not his newborn daughter, wife, or civilians in the room for that matter. As Gravitas looked upon his wife and daughter respectively, and to the pleading nurses that remained in the room, he then looks upon his wife once more, with glossy eyes, she gives him a nod, a silent agreement, Gravitas sheds silent tears at the sight, and so, no longer able to hold on, the entire hospital collapsed in an instant, killing every single soul within, including, his beloved wife. -Gravitas was only able to save his child in his arms by creating a split second barrier around himself to shield them from the rubble. He couldn't even grieve or process his wife's death, as he knew he had to stop his daughter from crying at this moment, nothing else mattered. It took a few minutes of cooing, rocking, and talking to her, while Gravitas himself was holding back a sea of tears, to finally calm her down, all while still buried underneath the very rubble that took his wife's life. His daughter now smiled and laughed at Gravitas's antics as if nothing had happened, her hypnotizing deep purple cosmic eyes that almost seemed to contain the very stars and cosmos within gleaming. Dashing all of his grief and worries away, along with the screams, the chaos, had ceased. Everything had gone back to normal seemingly, leaving behind pure death and destruction. But, it wasnt over, this was but a ray of sunshine in this tragic day, and the least of his concerns, as in the span of merely a few minutes, so much had occured... -The great Earthquake was just the start of this hell on Earth, reality itself around the Earth became warped, first there was a sudden eclipse that left the masses even more terrified after the Earthquake transpired, even more so as electronics stopped working all together alongside it, no communication of any kind was possible during this event. Then objects started floating, people too, planes fell from the sky, bombarding hundreds below. Some animals gained sentience, could walk, talk, and some made sounds that werent their own. Buildings, street signs and lamp-posts danced as if in a cartoon, some cars, people, objects of all kind turned into bubbles and flew into the sky's never to be seen again, some people became crazed and started killing others gleefully, including some heroes, which was where the main bulk of the casualties stemmed from. A micro black hole appeared that engulfed an entire city in a second, leaving behind just an enormous crater in place of the thousands of lives it took. The sky, the clouds themselves moved extremely quickly above as if in a time lapse, tornados, balls of lightning, and all kinds of weather phenomena were reported all around the globe as they ripped through the various landscapes. Mysterious gargantuan creatures reportedly appeared in oceans, swallowing cruises whole, new scientifically impossible crosses of animals suddenly made themselves known, running rampant through cities and towns. -But the most interesting, and worst of all that appeared, was a terrifying being that was spotted in multiple locations all around the world, not inherently hostile, as it never directly attacked a single person, but something so other worldly, that any who looked upon it? Died outright, or if they were lucky? They would be driven mad. The being was said to have no face, but a myriad of mouths throughout its whole body that was almost pitch black, as if it was a walking breathing mass of darkness itself, each mouth smiling from side to side, and laughing maniacally, a laughter so loud, that it burst the eardrums of any that heard it, and liquefied their brains. Or so we've collected from the mad scribbles of the very few that survived and witnessed an unfortunate encounter with it... -It was pure chaos, hundreds of thousands died, in such a short span, if not millions that single day, the one's that were affected never recovered. The true estimate of loss of life is still unknown. The association promptly figured this was work of a primordial talent, due to the fact that every time the chaos being was spotted? It would be facing the same direction, where Gravita's daughter was born, no matter where it was in the world. So they soon found the unfortunate newborn, and in an emergency meeting, it was decided that the newborn must die, even if they were to turn Gravitas, who was the number 2 hero of the time, against them. Their fear of the possible, got the better of them. They approached Gravitas, and in a futile attempt explained to him what he already figured out, so, a terrible battle ensued between the association and Gravitas, he killed scores, and scores of heroes, the top heroes at the time refused to join in this war. Refused to kill his child no matter the circumstance, but not a single one helped him all the same. They all watched on from all over the world as Gravitas fought a losing battle for his only child, the only thing he had left in this life. The bloody war ended with the association's head eventually having to join in to overpower him and put a stop to his rampage. But, it is unknown what the true outcome of the battle was, as Gravitas in a pure rage fueled final stand, unleashed his strongest attack yet, that not even he knew he was capable of, he collapsed the very continent they resided in. Dooming every living soul within, of course, and unfortunately so, his daughter lost her life in the midst of the battle. In the end, the association deemed it a success, and prevented another situation like this from happening again, many heroes left the association after this occured, in fear, traumatized by what they had witnessed, and others in disagreement by what the association had done, driving one of humanities strongest protectors away, and killing what he loved most, but one thing can be agreed upon by everyone that day, no one, stood up for Gravitas, no one was there for him when he needed them most, not his friends, not the association he swore his allegiance to. In the happiest day of his life, everything crumbled, and the world had turned against him. |
