Equality is not an easy question. All people have equal value in the eyes of God or just as humans, if you prefer. However, every person is born with different genetic capabilities (level of intelligence, artistic proclivity, physical strength or weakness) These inbred capabilities are acted upon by upbringing, and a lifetime of experiences creating a unique person different from every other person – a unique person is not equal (the same) as any other person. While “equal opportunity” is something that is a worthy goal, the evolution of any society struggles with it. The insiders resist the new comers – one ethnic group puts up barriers for other groups to overcome. In the end, the equal chance to succeed for all is a basic principle of a free society and must be practiced no matter the obstacles in its way. But “equal outcome”, because of individuality, cannot and should not be attempted. To rob a person of the value of their special skills is not only a crime against them but against all of their society. It is the variety of skills that makes a culture work. Not everyone can be what they desire. A person with poor eyesight or average intelligence cannot be an astronaut or brain surgeon. Only a person who has the initial physical and mental capabilities to learn and put into practice the skills for high level professions. Equal Outcomes can only be achieved by a totalitarian government. A capitalist democracy rewards excellence and individual effort. It supports and rewards each person according to their skills and efforts. Communism seeks to crush and control each human to enforce its corrupt system – think and choose wisely. |
