My first poem I’ve written in years, trying to dig my way out.

I close my eyes, still nothing changes.
I battle a foe who remains nameless.
They lurk in shadows, move in darkness.
I shoot to kill, yet still they’re markless.
How can I feel numb when I have no feeling?
With the blows I’m taking, I’m still reeling
My opposition knows, my fight it’s stealing.
And the power it has, has no ceiling.
I run, I fight, i break a sweat.
This battle I’m losing, has me in a fret.
I lower my shoulder, I see the threat.
A blow to the head is a pretty safe bet.
I step back once, I step back twice.
My movement’s subtle but into light.
Their face is shown, I turn to ice.
The one I fight, is me tonight.
I swing, I kick, more punches thrown.
My foe gets hit, their cover is blown.
My eyes spread wide, I stand alone.
The dark is gone, as is my clone.
