Expensive Oh My Goodness these Lenses

Sitting at a table, an article in the Daily lay flat,
Viewing the news with no words, just pictures,
No headline, just images,
“Bleached teeth shine so brightly”
A masquerade, that shines, almost blinds the reader’s eyes,
An interpretation protrudes through clear lenses,
A woman smiles right back at a man (Jason),
“You like my lenses (Jason); they are expensive…
Buy these at the nearest store and your vision will sharpen,
Ignoring the lenses, Jason squinted at the person,
Well, my goodness if this person can wear them, can I?
Ignorant as ever, Jason went to the nearest designer store,
Checked his watch, Jason thought, Better stop procrastinating,
Look at me wasting my time and cold hard-earned money,
I feel so selfish but it’s better than nothing…
Jason grabbed the set of lenses and placed it gently on his head,
No one can stop me with this new set of eyes!
On his way home, without looking both ways, Jason dropped his frames,
Without looking back, Jason made up his mind,
A big fat truck ran over the frames,
In a state of shock, Jason covered his mouth,
Walking onto his doorstep, Jason brushed his teeth,
Looking at his reflection, Jason was guilty,
My sorry self did not listen,
What a waste of time, so much for focusing on my friend,,
I dropped my new lenses after I paid a fortune.
With regret, Jason dropped his head,
Ah, well better not learn this hard mistake again.
