Break that Chain

Dogs are filthy, they eat, sleep, and lie around doing almost nothing. Walking around a small park, like a dog on a leash, the dog’s ankle was caught on a large chain. The chain was thick, it was made of brass and steel, and it could not break. Though the chain was invisible, its length went beyond a distance; it could not break no matter where the dog went. The dog stood on two legs, resembling a human. The only difference is that dogs do nothing, this dog did almost all they could to break free from captivity. It yearned for freedom away from a large open space where a pack of wild huskies roamed the streets. The dog felt unsafe and unheard of, while the huskies could not stop running. Endlessly moving for nothing, they barked, cried, and devoured every scrape. The huskies dreamt of a new day when they could repeat the same small walk in their petite little park. One dog with the ankle chain wanted to breathe, so instead of escaping right away, it faked a huge smile on its face. The dog went home. It had a clump of dirty clay; the clay was thick and hard and mushy. The foundation that held the clay was hard to peel off. A mass of huskies growled at him. Looking at the dog like it was a raw, uncooked, unsavory piece of meat. The dog’s flesh felt like it was being eaten. The woofer looked into a mirror, peeling away at the hard and stale bit of clay that was all over its face. The heavy dog’s smile turned soft and crooked. The dog went to wash the mess right off. The fake smile became a dead frown; the face was blank and down, and it was so hard to the ground. It had red cheekbones that were thin due to the amount of pressure it took to hide it so well. The dog covered its mouth, and in its nearest trash can, it regurgitated all the food it overate just to escape a large pack of huskies. A nearby wolf looked outside at the dog as it went for a brief walk, “Still can’t stop overeating, huh? If you don’t give me what I want, I will make sure to ruin your life and burn your flesh and meat at the stake. Including those you are with. Keep trying, you can’t leave me.” Behind the dog was a figure that wore a brown coat, it had a sharp axe. The axe cut through the dog’s ankle chain like a steel knife; the figure whispered in the woofer’s ear, “Leave before the husky succeeds.”
