LIVING DEAD

A free verse poem.

Voyeuristic sympathetic vampirism,

Living only watching others breathe,

Remembering the pain in a chest with a beat,

Casts no reflection, mirroring what is seen,

This marionet has no notion of its strings,

Yet still knows the tug of every thread,

So shadow dances through the emotions,

While rehearsing a funeral in dread of night,

For dawn brings daydreams of an unlived life.
