Psst, Fido, can you let the family know the kitchen’s on fire?

I know! Casper, but I’ve tried to waken them up but they sleep the sleep of the dead.

Well, bark louder then!

I’ve barked until my voice is getting raspy. Can’t you do anything about it?

I’m a ghost, Fido, you know that. Ghosts are very ineffectual, other than to scare people half to death.

Can’t you put the fire out?

It’s already burning the curtains Fido. I suggest you go upstairs before it’s too late.

At last I can break the no dogs on the bed rule.
