What have I been up to?

Another brain dump

Hi all,

​I haven't posted anything on here for a week, and I didn't want you all to think I was just bombarding you with my brain-dumps!
​So, what have I been up to over the last week?

​My latest blog post is out, titled "My Author Brain-Dump: What to Do With a Finished Sequel?" (link below) On the marketing front, I feel like I've had a small win: I've managed to sort out a week's worth of social media posts and learned how to schedule them for each day on Facebook and Instagram. Believe me, this has saved a lot of time! It’s one of those tasks you don't even know you need to plan for when you first think about publishing that book you wrote over five years ago. But that is the reality of being an indie author.

​I also had some exciting news for my newsletter subscribers, where I announced the title for Book 2! Yes, I have finally figured a title out. In fact, the three I had been working with have been deleted completely. When the right title came to me, I couldn't believe I hadn't thought of it before. I will be sharing this on my social accounts on the 8th of August.

​While I have a title, there are still a lot of things to do before Book 2 comes out. Do I use the publisher I used last time? Do I try and find a different one that maybe offers more? Then there's the cover design (I have a concept, but still need to finalise it). There are still a lot of decisions to make, and the biggest one at the moment is whether to use a publisher service again or to try and do it all myself. All of this needs to be sorted before I can even think of a release date.
​I was thinking of posting something new on here for you all to read – maybe the Prologue of my book, "An Irish Mystery."

​Let me know in the comments if that's something you would like to read on here. If I get enough people who say yes, then maybe that will be my next post.
