The end of summer
Of 1982 was a momentous day
For Sam Adams

He was starting a new job
Right after Labor Day
Teaching for the US Army

He had a dream that morning
In the dream
His dream lady

Who had haunted his dreams,
Since high school

She said to him,

“Now that the summer is over
The sky is high
The horses are fat
The emperor is far away
It is time that we shall meet”

That night she walked off a bus
Into his life
Becoming his wife
Two months later.

For me, summer ends on Labor Day which is the first Monday in September

I met my wife on September 7th, 1982 when she walked off a bus into my life ending the eight years of dreams.
