A Stone in my Pocket

I did heed your fair warning
& have my report
from the round-trip journey inside -

so anyway
I peeked
through the open pane
of Love’s window & found
a scarred heart with no eyes -
blinded & ripped
by flying flecks of shattered glass
& pinned to it’s bark
swings
a faded handwritten sign -


that reads:
closed for repairs -
