Small town breaches by a worldly specter - a poem. |
| A dubious and nightmarish resolve; Predicated on possibilities; A proof of volatility And viscous awareness; Conclusions of waxing and waning orbs Cherished nightly or weekly Mellow on the dedicated fence Of the neighbor’s quiet, Tree-lined yard. A parade of floats journey Down the streets of a historic town. Folks stand shoulder to shoulder And elbow to elbow, in comfy chairs; Appraising a dignified and honored display Of set-in-stone clues And justified morals. Ostentatious wicking - A blissful child or cheery adult blows out The dimly lit and smoking flame; The group extends a set of plates And utensils adorned With a delicious cake. The cycle of small town Or community reviews By residents Once again proceeds To vindicate an age-old thinking; The prodigal science Of work-life balance; And the conscience and peace Of privacy And opportunity As a whole In our darkened spiral. |
