I wrote this poem to tell you that amidst the hot weather here in the Philippines. |
In the midst of summer's fiery embrace, Amidst the scorching sun's relentless chase, I stand, with senses keen, in this arid space, Whispering softly, I can smell the rain's grace. Though the air may still hold the sun's fierce glow, And the earth beneath my feet lies cracked and low, A subtle shift in scent begins to grow, As rain's sweet fragrance through the breeze does flow. With every breath, I feel the earth rejoice, As droplets dance upon parched soil, finding voice, A symphony of renewal, a harmonious choice, In the scent of rain, nature's soothing poise. So I share this gift, this wondrous sight, With those around, under summer's might, For even in the heat, amidst the blinding light, I can smell the rain, heralding its flight. |
