A poem from a parent of a T1 diabetic child. |
| It’s the middle of the night again You're so pale Feeling if you're cold You're still breathing Thanking God It’s the middle of the night again Don't want to wake you up Feeding you sugar and love You're twisting in your sleep Still so cold It’s the middle of the night again I keep you in my bed to have you close You're too big you're growing up Taking all the space My pillow is yours It’s the middle of the night again The day is getting closer I'm too scared to fall asleep Just a little while more Listening to your breaths It’s the middle of the night again You're still cold Take my blanket I'm ok Feeding you sugar and love Maybe I can dare to sleep |
