"Lonely February Bird"

An acrostic about missing my parents.

Lost my Dad in November
Only I'm here now
No one to speak to
Except on the phone.
Loved him so much
Yet relieved his pain is gone with his body.

Feb 2, his birthday, Feb. 4 - their anniversary
Events come and go
But they're not here to celebrate.
Remembering the camps he took me on
Up the mountain,
Across the ocean to a little island
River-banks and rustic tents
You really loved nature, Daddy

Both of them in Heaven together
I look up and smile
Really, I'm not so alone
Dad and Mom are in all of Nature.
