The Grasshopper Lies Heavy

A poem inspired by the Amazon show Man in the High Castle.

I lay awake

wondering if the portal will ever break

To see myself in other lights

and see my heart in full sight

I wonder how I will be judged

a single soul, the one that’s me

or a multiple equation

balance from a limited infinity

The good, the bad, the righteous, and wicked

All are part of one soul

parted at the big band

together for eternities dole

Every night I lay awake

Wondering if my soul twins

will condemn me forever in the lake

or will goodness tip the equation towards grace
