The basement door it opened wide. At first, I couldn’t see inside,. Until the power it sustained, As if it was constrained. Down the creaking stairs I went, My heart in sync with my descent. But when I saw what lay around My heart’s rate soon began to pound. A body, stabbed and blooded. The floor all wet, the basement flooded.
