When everything falls silent
and the sky’s an inky black,
When road is closed before you
and there is no turning back,

Life stands still–

no light, no life, no laughter.
no death, no dreams, no thereafter.
with so much more to learn,
but no answers.

Where am I?

I’ve been here before,
but this time there’s no leaving.
I’ve grown numb from the cold.
I can’t hear my breathing.

When I’ve gone into the night,
don’t grieve me.
