She was my Dad's dog, but she held a special place in my heart |
Short, boxy and stout; always an inquisitive look. She loved with all of her might. Jessie followed at your feet, and of treats, partook; She was always within your sight. She liked her walks, her treats, and praise, A constant companion was she; For almost seventeen years, a pup was raised, Her love and devotion were free. I miss that girl, and think often of her, I cannot imagine her gone, She was light and love, sweet and pure; Time without her has been long. So, Jessie, I'll see you one day, Across that Rainbow Bridge, Once again, we'll romp and play, Alongside Eternity's ridge. note ▶︎ |
