A short poem reflecting on the ripple effect trauma can have within families. |
| From birth our small minds plastic Sensitive, malleable Shaped by parents Inherently fallible Humans transport pain As their parents did before them A generational timeline From which all problems stem? Children like shock absorbers Cannot filter experience Trauma impacts and shapes With little recompense Without self-awareness it's easy To repeat personal history's mistakes Then suffering becomes cyclical Embedded in our fate But resilience, choice and lifestyle Are all important factors In breaking free from patterns That inheritance has passed us. |
