| Whether it is a cold shower after a heated argument, or a hot bath on a cold winter's day, we are often refreshed after an encounter with water. People often feel revevenated after a dip in the pool or even a walk on the edge of the surf. The sound of rain hitting the window pane, or waves crashing against the sand are relaxing to most people. Also, the water from. a garden fountail trickling down onto the pebbles below. Why is this such a prevailing feeling? I propose this is because water is so important to our very survival. The world is .ostly water, our bodies are mostly water. How often do you hear "hydrate?" I believe we are led to feel comfort in water because of our primal need for it. |
