Gratitude

Patriotic free verse poem written for contest

Flags line the streets of our town
Waving their red, white and blue colors in the wind
In memory and in honor of the countless men and women who have served.

Lovely reminders of our thankfulness.
Banners in the sunlight reminiscent of those who served and still serve a grateful nation.

May freedom reign eternal in this
Land of the free and home of the brave.
And, may this symbol of the United States forever fly.
