A fictional poem based on one of my favorite books, Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens |
| I stand on this beautiful land As I watch this feather fall into my hand And look up into the bright sky As the sun burns each eye I’m one with this marsh Because it is not harsh I’m one with this feather It makes me want to live forever I turn my head to look at his face He gives me a glance that makes my heart race He never knew what love felt like until he met me And I knew when I met him that he was the key Feathers and the marsh explain our love You and I together, each of us a dove This marsh is our home Where forever we’ll roam |
