I love them so! |
Sisters - always there, whether you want them or not. The oldest of four girls with only 5 years between us - We lived, loved, fought and stood up for and to each other. Then we grew up and went our separate ways - Marriage, military, work, kids - being pulled in all directions. It was a rare treat to get a call, if only just to say "hi" and "bye". 2021 was a sad year. We lost one of our own that spring. Cancer is insidious, and it caused us to take a mental pause. Mortality sometimes slaps us in the face, with dread consequences. We got together for this last Christmas time, enjoying one another As we hadn't in such a long time. It was good to see my sisters, and there was a joyful pain in my heart. The calls are still a treat, although they are more frequent than they've been. I still recall memories of our childhood. I'm grateful now that we have a lifeline. And I hope that it will be sooner rather than later when we see each other again. Line Count - 15 For Writer's Cramp 4/11/23 ▶︎ |
