Looking west at the Sunset knowing a hurricane is devastating lands beyond- and hope

Ray of Light

As I look west I see

the splendor
the spectacular glow
the belittling of all things trivial
it stops me in my tracks

As I look west I feel

the afterglow
the afterglow is horrible
his name is Harvey
Harvey is a hurricane, he raged onward and left behind
In his path at this very time is misery and suffering
unfathomable loss and ugly distortion of a beautiful world

As I look west I know

There’s a ray of light
This gives us hope
We can move on and recover
It will be ok
This ray of light
Behold
