When I was in graduate school
In Seattle, Washington, back in the ’80s
Both my wife and I discovered we had a case
Of the SAD seasonal affective disorder,
Otherwise known as the Seattle Winter Blues.

Could not handle the short days
Sunrise at 9 am sunset at 4 pm
And constant rain all day long
The rain got into your bones.

But the spring and summers
Were great sunset at 10 pm
The summers almost made up
For the SAD Seattle winter blues.
