Did you see them gazing upon you?
Did you turn your eyes upward and stare?
Did you notice the thousand new lights
Burning bright through the city's dull glare?

Was awe a part of your wonder?
Did you pray for their new coming day?
Did you thank the heavens for being,
With dear ones now shining your way?

I saw them, my friend, and I wondered,
How saddened their loved ones are drawn,
I counted their blessings and heartaches
And breathed in their new coming dawn.

Did you see them tonight?
Will you find them tomorrow?
Can you count them and know they are fine?

Look up to the heavens and see them...

Five thousand new stars...
all divine.
