I love the opening of a book,
The smell of fresh pages
The newness of a tale
As yet untold

Nowadays, tablets
have taken the place of pages
Just flipping of a screen
To read, mindlessly

To hold a book in my hands
Is a treasure, a delight
To turn those pages carefully
Is an act of love

Give me a book any day
over the electronics
Give me tangible evidence
of giving over my mind to fantasy
