Gone in a flash

A mantis meets a grisly end

Mantis? Is she the praying kind?
The one a male should best avoid?
But, as is the way, he finds himself entwined
Enjoying life, until he finds himself destroyed

Gone in a snap, his head is off
Whilst still he’s copulating
I guess this really is ‘one off’
But he’s done his job. He’s populating.
