Wheedle

Eight line poem

Some folks like to wheedle,
It gets them what they want, or need.
Into the good books they inveigle,
With a smile, a wink, or sometimes plead.

Some are more into coaxing,
I suppose that’s almost the same.
But when someone’s ego they’re stroking,
It’s not nice. They’re playing a childish game.
