Closing in on a fruitful, latent triumph -
A devastating calamity,
The promises we cherish,
Giving rise to hardships
And magical truths…

The voluminous rights
Of the non-incarcerated -
An intolerable consequence
Of our nation’s vapid leadership…

Murders, rapes, and robberies.
Life-changing moments
By executive, legal,
And legislative passions,
Perpetrated on our wholly worshipped
And veering society…

A knowing shift
To a more loving, kind,
And sustaining desire
In the way-too-separate
And distant offing…
