A short story collection based on Simon & Garfunkel's album [Musicology Anthology, 5/'22] |

Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel recorded a lot of great songs, many of which I enjoyed as a teen. This particular album was released in 1970 and was the 5th and final studio album by that great duo. Back in the day, they were all over the airwaves; I caught them here in Denver on AM 950 - 95 Fabulous KIMN. I've known the lyrics for these songs seemingly forever, and they were my companions in times of solitude. The harmonies, rhythms, and especially the featured brass sections - I really liked these, young trumpet player that I was - always seemed to be just perfect. The songs serve as the inspiration for some reflection, rumination, and outright fabrication mostly set against the backdrop of a Czech-themed bar. I hope you enjoy them.
