Keep Your Eyes Open

Eight line poem

It’s not wise to be preoccupied
When zoo-keeping is your occupation
Those four legged charges may have sharp eyes
And not be averse to a little predation

You may find yourself six foot under
Before you knew what bit you
And never realise you made a blunder
As dandelions wave yellow heads above you.
