I Love You


I tell you that
I love you
not because
you might have forgotten
since the last time I told you
or because I think that you
don't know or because
anything has changed.
I tell you I love you
because, if possible,
I want those words
to be the last
you ever hear from me
or the last thing
I ever say to you.
