For the worse

every time i try something it goes the opposite from what i want, unless i try to fail.

Once I wrote a poem
Just like a summer day
And I watched winter come
And it all fell away.

Once I sang a song
To the tune of castle walls
And I watched it grow old
The palace door falls.

Once I played a role
Just like a lovely life
And I watched it fade
With the swish of a knife

And so once I baked a cake
With the scent of defeat
Nothing changed this time
It's a game I can't beat.
