| ‘Tis the time of year when thoughts of love inspires, Not only callow youth But poets and singers too. Yet not even Spring The sap it rises. Excitement trembles Deep within, as winter breathes A last farewell. Out of the darkness Brave bulbs send up green shoots. Despite the season’s chill, Showing contempt of that which would defeat. Into the light, Inspiration grows. Breathing in the rain soaked earth Buds unfurl, reveal bright colours And the promise of more.
