Conquering the Writers Demons

for the Poet Place Prompt

Every writer struggles
With his or her demons,
That keep him or her
From achieving his
Or her dreams.

My demons include
Time itself,
Finding time to write
Can be a challenge,
Life constantly interrupts.

The main demon though
Is the editing demon,
In that I hate editing
Can’t stand the idea.

Want to get it done
Mark it finished, complete.
And move on.

Looking at my work again,
Editing it,
Fills me with dread
and mind numbing fear.

Yet I know I must do it.
Conquering the fear of editing,
That is my eternal writing demon.
